Child Safety Standards

Last updated: May 20, 2025

Berg has a zero-tolerance policy for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE). Any content or behavior that sexualizes minors or facilitates harm to children results in immediate account termination and reporting to authorities.

1. Our Commitment

Berg is designed to help adults form real-world plans and friendships. We are committed to maintaining a safe platform and to the protection of children from sexual abuse and exploitation in all forms. These standards apply to all users, content, and activity on Berg.

2. Prohibited Content and Behavior

The following are strictly prohibited on Berg and will result in immediate account termination:

  • Any content that sexually exploits or abuses minors, including child sexual abuse material (CSAM) in any form.
  • Grooming — any attempt to build a relationship with a minor for the purpose of sexual exploitation or abuse.
  • Solicitation of minors for sexual purposes, whether through direct messages, public posts, or any other feature of the platform.
  • Sharing, distributing, or linking to CSAM or content that sexualizes minors.
  • Attempts to arrange in-person meetings with minors for exploitative purposes.
  • Using Berg's features (motives, circles, chat) to target or exploit children.

3. Detection and Enforcement

Berg employs the following measures to detect and prevent CSAE:

  • User reporting: Any user can report content or behavior they believe violates these standards. Reports are reviewed promptly by our team.
  • Account review: Accounts reported or flagged for CSAE-related violations are reviewed and suspended pending investigation.
  • Zero tolerance: Verified violations result in permanent account termination with no possibility of reinstatement.
  • Content moderation: We review reported content and remove prohibited material upon discovery.

4. Reporting to Authorities

Berg will report confirmed instances of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) and exploitation to:

  • The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) via CyberTipline at missingkids.org/cybertipline.
  • Relevant law enforcement authorities in the applicable jurisdiction.
  • Apple and Google (platform providers) as required under their developer policies.

We preserve relevant account data and cooperate fully with law enforcement investigations.

5. Age Requirement

Berg is intended for users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly allow minors to create accounts. If we learn that a user is under 18, their account will be terminated. If you believe a minor has an account on Berg, please contact us immediately at support@joinberg.app.

6. How to Report

To report a violation of these child safety standards:

  • In-app: Use the "Report" option on any user profile, message, or content.
  • Email: Contact support@joinberg.app with details of the violation.

Reports are treated with urgency. We aim to review all child safety reports within 24 hours.
